When I heard that a friend had started 100 Women Who Care in Uxbridge, I was immediately intrigued. I set up a phone call with one of the co-founders, Andrea Scowcroft, to find out more about the program and how she got involved. I thought of many women right away who would probably love this opportunity to get involved and give back in their own community. It's a simple concept, but very effective. We look forward to helping as many people in Markham as we can!

As a busy mother of two I was ecstatic when I learned about 100 Women Who Care. I had been looking for a way to get involved in the community, to make a difference, and to teach my children the importance of giving back. 100 Women Who Care allows me to accomplish those things and as an added bonus I get to meet and work with fantastic women from around my very own community.

While at work one day, I came across a flyer for 100 Women Who Care Stouffville.  My co-worker explained to me what it was, and right away I wanted to join.  After more contemplation and considering that I live in Markham, I thought it would be better to support the community in which I reside.  To my disappointment, the Markham Chapter of 100 Women Who Care did not exist.  At that moment, ever a believer in manifestation, I told my husband that I was going to put it out there that I wanted to start the Markham Chapter.  About a month later I received a call from Michelle asking if I’d heard of this group…the rest is history.  I’m looking forward to giving back to my community in a big way and of course meeting and mingling with other fabulous Markham women who care.

Rachael has since moved to London, but was integral in getting this group started!

I’m thrilled to be involved with such a great organization where our combined efforts and funds can help strengthen the Markham community and broaden the support network to those in need. Not everyone has the time to volunteer so being a part of 100+ Women Who Care is a great way to give back. The personal rewards received from giving back far outweigh anything else and I am really excited to see what the impact will be not only within our community but within ourselves.
